What I have done for Macintosh’ Victory

We had to cross dangerous paths before we reached the top. It wasn’t easy for our team to succeed all the challenges we’ve encountered. I’ve spent all the skills I have just to win all the games I joined. This will happen only once in a year, so I give my all.

I joined badminton for the non-ball-game. My partner Vergel, and I showed an amazing technique in order to defeat the opposing team. But we had a hard time defeating them, since they were very skillful in playing badminton. But their skills aren’t enough to stop our enduring power in badminton. (Wow yabang!)

My ball game is volleyball. The first opponent of our team is the Green Acer and luckily, we were able to win over that team. Our second opponent is the Blue Vaio but unfortunately, we lost for our line up was a disaster. Stanford was not their, Richard and Zyrex have other games simultaneous with this game so all we have to do is enter other players in the lineup. The third game is Macintosh Vs. the Yello Asus. I admit that that was a good game and a close fight. Their players were really good and besides, we weren’t pressured while playing with them.

We were able to reach the finals and in order to be the champions, we had to beat Blue Vaio twice since they beat us once. We won the second game, so the decision relies on the third. We had a very close fight but in the end, we were declared the CHAMPIONS! Thanks to my great team mates, Neil, Rem, Zyrex, Stanford, and Richard for showing an outstanding performance.

In overall ranking, Red Macintosh got the second. It doesn’t matter if we did not become the 1st, because we still have one year. I learned that in sports, winning is nothing, having fun is something, but having friends is everything.

A Healthy Mind is a Healthy Body

A healthy mind is a healthy body, that’s what I believe, so I decided to represent the 3rd year level and be their Mr. Physique, Mr. Physique of our team, the Red Macintosh. “I have the brains and the looks naman di ba?” Ahehehe…

As preparation, I went to SM and bought all the things I need for this event. I even made a surfing board out of Styrofoam. “San ka pa!?!”

At the day of the contest, I was so tensed for what may happen. “Feeling ko, pasan ko ang mundo.” I don’t know what to do! “Ilang daga na kaya ang nasa dibdib ko?”

For me, were all deserving to win but I have the guts to win this so I really need to give my best shot for my batch mates gave their full trust on me. That thought on my mind was then changed by an intense feeling as the Mr. and Ms. Physique were then called to ramp on the stage.

“Do I look good? Where’s my surfing board? How’s my hair? How’s my shirt? Do you think I can do this?” I have asked millions of questions to my classmates before I go about the stage. I was so nervous, I was very nervous.

Despite of being nervous, I did rock on the stage as I hear my team mates’ loud voices cheering for me. I owe them my gratitude for they gave me that enough confidence I need to rock the stage.

As I watch my sister Ariane who’s also a candidate representing their team Yellow Asus, I feel so proud. I wanted to say “ Yes! That’s my sister! Mana sa kuya! Ahehehehe…”She’s really good. She looks nice on that high boots!

After rocking the stage, question and answer portion follows which comprises the criteria of 50%. The question given to us is “Why did you choose Macintosh for your team.” At first thought, I really wanted to say, “You are the one who gave the names of the teams anyway.” Of course, I will say that, that would be an act of disrespect. Wahaha.. I answered it very well, I think.

After that answer, I just felt so free. “ Haaayyy salamat… Tapos na ang aking paghihirap!”

After having a 30 minute break, it’s time to know who would make it to be the Mr. and Ms. Physique for this year. We got 2nd place! “Not bad at all! At least ginawa namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya and we gave glory to our batch!” My sister got the title anyway, so why would I be sad?

A Journey to a Goal

I was in a middle of a game of volleyball when Sir Ernesto Mojica interrupted and called my attention. “Aaron, you will be the representative of our school for the Division Ginoong Agham so be ready and meet me at the Physics Laboratory this 11:30, I will orient you about the gudelines and criteria for the pageant.” That’s what I remember to what he had said.

What? Ginoong Agham!?! I even don’t know if I can be one. Right then, I have thought that “why can’t I be?” I have the personality, the brains and I have the guts to win this pageant, so why not go for it? After that thought, I had finally decided to pursue this task given to me and give my best to come up with a goal, and that is to take home the title.

Before that day comes, I was so busy preparing for the things needed for the pageant. Just like gathering materials needed for my indigenous costume and for the talent portion. Giday, an expert on events like this helped us making the costume and he had decided to use old newspapers and the midribs of a coconut leaf as design of my indigenous costume. We had lots of preparations to do so for the second thought, “I really need to win this!”

That Monday morning, they told us that the pageant would still be tomorrow. What!?! After that hardships in preparing all we need, it’s still tomorrow! That day, we went to Governor Ferrer Memorial High School at General Trias, Cavite just to have an orientation about the guidelines, schedule, and the things to be done for the event. Seeing my opponents, I had this doubt on my mind that maybe I will not win this one for all have that personality needed to become a Ginoo or Binibining Agham, the same thing to my sister’s mind.

The next day, the day we had been waiting for, it’s time for the search for Ginoo at Binibining Agham. At that very moment, all of the candidates were told to show off their talent for the talent portion. Seeing my opponents talents, I have said “Pheeeooowww,… I’m better than that!” That thought then turned to a dream come true, just like my Lakan days in Dumaguete, I’m still the unbeatable Mr. Talent. We’ll now then wear our casual wear. I stood up on the stage confidently despite of the fact that “dinadaga ang dibdib ko”. I introduced myself then, and thank God, all went right.

After that, we’ll now be wearing our formal attire made of indigenous materials. I can’t hardly move wearing that costume made of newspapers. Eoww… But that did not give me a reason to stop rocking the stage and stop amazing the judges. After then, it’s time to know who would make it inti the finals. Luckily, me and my sister made it so we will now be facing the question and answer portion, the portion we were worried about. A picture will be given to each finalist and they will be explaining it. I got a picture that shows a land full of garbage. I explained it confidently, right then, the audience gave me a round of applause. The funny thing is, only me and my sister explained the picture in English speaking, our opponents can’t hardly speak. Ahehe…

It’s time to know who would be the Ginoo and Binibining Agham who would represent Cavite for the Rgionals. After all the hardships we had encountered, thank God! I won the title of Ginoong Agham! So Regionals it is!

A ‘HELEN’nic Game

“Mighty blocks. Powerful spikes.”

I was speechless as I watched Helen’s game. All I could think of was those statements above. I could see everybody, open-mouthed , as we witnessed Helen’s power in volleyball.

If you come a time to play with her, better be scared. She could easily return any shots of the opponent. She may be a 1st year student, but she could do BIG. She could outscore anybody else.

There’s no wonder why she instantly had a fans club. Actually, I’m a member of that club, and I’m proud to be. I idolize her because despite of her fame, she stays humble and down-to-earth.

Helen was able to defeat other year levels though she was much younger that them. She doesn’t have that height advantage or anything else, she’s just one of a kind. She and her teammates especially Cielo and Judith posses an extraordinary teamwork, which really made them the real CHAMPIONS.

So why did I entitle this “A ‘HELEN’nic Game”? Well, it’s pretty obvious that she has everybody’s eyes on her when she plays, making her the volleyball superstar, and making her own the game.

It's Field Trip

"Yes!!!"... I was so excited for the field trip... We were half day last Friday since we have to go to school early for Saturday's field trip in Subic, Olonggapo City. Wahahahaha... At the day of the field trip, it's a disaster. Why? Think of this, I was late for about one and a half hour in the morning. The story goes like this...

I told our maid to wake me up 2:00 in the morning, but she did not! I woke up about four in the morning by myself. When I looked in our wall clock, what?!? It's 4 in the morning?!? I'm dead, I'm so dead!!! Huhuhu.. I'm so worried that time because maybe I will be left, or worse, be the cause why the trip will be late.

I fixed myself very fast, as fast as I could. As I'm taking a shower, I'm hitting my head because maybe, it's just a dream, I mean, the worst nightmare I will be having. Huhuhu.. But it's not a dream, it’s been a while and I thought that it’s real. I'm in the real world. Haiiizzz... I hurriedly road our car with my father, he drove the car as fast as he could because, not primarily because my fair cannot be refunded, but because he does not want me to be left behind in this trip since he knew how special this trip with my classmates to me. Hehe.. Dramatic!!! As we went nearer the school, the buses were already moving, also our bus which is at the last one in line. My father "hinarangan" the bus. I was so happy that I made it but worried because maybe I would hear negative statements from my classmates and from teachers why in the world I am late. But that second thought was wrong. As I entered the bus, my classmates made a countdown shouting 5,4,3,2,1... Hahaha, my doubt was erased in my mind. They were so happy that I made it and so am I.

Haiiizzz... It's been a while in the bus, they were still asking why I was late, then, I told them the reason... Hanging out in the bus, we had lots of fun since the class clowns are with us, number one in the list is Sheila. We had lots of fun with her since looking at her face will make you laugh already. Haha.. But there were some unexpecting incidents happened. The buses had problems with regards to their motor. We were still happy because our bus was a little bit new so it did not took long to stay for fixing thing not like the other bus which was stranded in the middle of nowhere asking for our help.

Our first destination was Ocean Adventure. It's great!!! The dolphins, the sea lions, the tour guides, everything but for one, the food. We did not enjoy the food. My favorite show was the sea lion show. I admire the sea lions. They were such good clowns. They make me laugh. Hahahaah...

Our next stop is Zoobic Safari. We saw many incredible things there like tigers, eatas, ostriches, and so much more. We also enjoyed there since I learned many things from that destination. Our last stop was Duty Free. We bought some pasalubong for our loved ones and other stuff for ourselves. We also ate in a restaurant. The service was so slow, so we were late for take off, hehe... It rained so much so it's a big destruction on our trip. But in general, were happy. At the evening, we also had lots of fun and we watched some horror movies. My other classmates were scared and so am I. Hahahaha... I really hate yucky movies since one of the movies shown was Saw 4. My father fetched me from the school campus and went back home.

After this trip, I concluded that this is the most memorable field trip I had.

An Overnight to Remember

It was a Friday morning when Tenten, one of my closest classmate invited us for the last time to join her at home and have a small private party, an overnight. At first she was sad for no was allowed to go for an overnight at their residence at Tanza, Cavite. Bach then, being one of the most friendly student of our class, we, including friends from the other sections were persuaded by her gentle tears and were then ewcited for a birthday party.

It’s already 8:00 in the evening and Nobie and I still wait for a bus to come. Luckily, for 10 years of waiting (hehe..), a Saulog Bus came. We were fetched by Kuya Johnny, the private driver of Tenten’s family and now, one of my friends at the Mcdo. We arrived at Tenten’s house and was shocked to what we saw. A lot of food caught our attention as if a big party was to be held and a big barangay was to be fed. (Ahihihi…)

At their house, we have done so much things and that includes singing on Tenten’s Magic Sing, we played some computer games on Ten’s personal computer, we played Ten’s Playstation, and watched 3 movies within just a night and those are “The Shutter”, “Wanted”, and “Scary Movie 3”. We also ate a lot. KFC chicken was a blockbuster and I admit that. We had so much fun.

One thing happened that overnight that had been the most memorable would be meeting Tenten’s family and friends who had been very accommodating at that time. It was fun to be with them for they were so nice. We also had picture taking and a video thing (now you can see on the net!!!). We slept less that 5 hours and woke up about 9 in the morning.

First thing we have done in the morning is having our breakfast. My friends ate a lot and so do I. After that, we had a short walk going to Pamela’s house. Right then, we saw many photo albums on Pamela’s house and saw her pictures when she’s still young. Ahehe… We also met their very big and scary dog named Hercules but Pamela used to call him Kuling. We went back on Tenten’s house and took a shower.

We hate to say goodbye but we have to. For me, “why be sad?” for Tenten would still have more birthdays to come and we can still have overnights like this on the next years.

This overnight is the best, not just only because of the food, the place, the fun, but because of the fact that we made Tenten happy and made her birthday memorable.
